Her eyes were drawn to a clothing store that had an amazing cloak in the window. It was black, but seemed to shimmer with iridescence and had slashes with inset red details. She stood with her nose against the glass for more than a minute before being irresistibly drawn into the shop. (2/6)

Brundhilde counted twice to make sure.
"That's strange," she said. "Lambda only has four toes."
"Lambda is a dog."
"But you kinda look like a dog."
"I beg your pardon!" he said.
"If I fly high enough," Forrest said. "You both look like insects." (2/2)

The bear turned and waited until she arrived.

He held a paw out and let her . (1/2)

After dinner, she wrote for a while in her journal. But she soon fell asleep.
She awoke to find herself being carried to bed.
"Did you see?" she yawned.
"I did!" Kasseh said. "We will have to celebrate tomorrow."
"Tomorrow…" Cecelia echoed, and fell back to sleep in Kasseh's arms. (3/3)

When she arrived, she peeked into the jewelry shop. She could see at once that Kasseh was in one her manic phases, hyperfocused on whatever it was she was working on. Cecelia sighed and quietly slipped upstairs. She recut the stem, put the rosebud in a vase, and set it on the table. (2/3)

"Ah!" Totemo said. "Good eye! That's a leaf miner. Insect larvae eat a path through the leaf. See how it gets wider as they grow? There are even , twig, and needle miners!"
"I'm glad there's nothing like that in people!" a boy said.
"Actually," Totemo said, warming to the subject. (2/3)

"It's not an umbrella: It's a parasol," he said, bandying semantics like a pro.
"But why do you have it?" she pressed.
"To me from the deadly actinic rays of the sun."
"It makes you look like a fop," she said, brightly.
"I prefer the more technical term 'flâneur,'" he said. (2/2)

Once the water finished draining through, Zsazsa removed the cone and handed the cup to Booboo who accepted it.
She inspected it suspiciously. "It looks like coffee." Then she tasted it. "It tastes like coffee! It's good! But I still want my cream and sugar."

"Would like a cup of coffee?" Zsazsa asked.
"I can just punch it in myself," Booboo replied.
"No, Darling! Let me make you one!"
