#WordWeavers Is there a subject that's represented poorly in media that you'd like to cover in your work?

I wrote *Revin's Heart*, my steampunky fantasy adventure with pirates and airships and a trans protagonist, at least in part after hearing people say they were looking for stories with trans characters that weren't about them becoming or being trans, but just as people living their best lives. *Revin's Heart* is just a young man's adventure story about a young man who happens to be trans.

#WritersCoffeeClub How do you organise your notes?

I use a text editor (currently Pulsar) to keep notes in a directory that's shared via @syncthing with my laptops, my phone, and my home server.

I have subdirectories for different projects (e.g. "sfwa") and use filenames like "board-20260312.txt".

I also do all of the rough drafts of my fiction as text files, then move the text to a word processor to revise and format into a manuscript for submission.

All of the faculty in my department at #UMassAmherst got some of the sycophantic AI-generated phishing spam. I've been seeing this stuff for so long, I didn't think much about it. But for most of the faculty it's something new. Ugh.

A friend told me today about a student of his who got a job training AI. He visits a site that presents two AI generated images and he is supposed to write 200 words about why one is "better." He says he uploads the images to a different AI and has it write the words, "because, fuck them."
